Can MusselBound mat be repositioned on the wall or reposition tiles on the mat?
MusselBound is designed to be gently positioned on the wall and if needed, removed and repositioned. Pressing firmly on the adhesive mat activates its strong bond. Similarly, gently applied tiles may be repositioned prior to activating the adhesive with firm pressure.
How long do I have to install tile once mat has been applied to the wall?
There is no time limitation to when the tiles can be applied.
How long does the exposed mat stay sticky?
Mat is a pressure sensitive adhesive and does not dry out or lose its stickiness when exposed unless it attracts dirt and dust that will blind over the adhesive. It is best to leave the release liner backing on the mat (or replace the backing on the mat) until you are ready to place the tiles.
Is MusselBound renter friendly?
MusselBound is intended to be a permanent application of tile. The removal of tile installed with MusselBound is likely to result in damaged wallboard.
How much time do I have to install tile once MusselBound mat has been applied to the wall?
MusselBound allows the flexibility to install tiles immediately or at your own pace. Simply leave the release paper on the mat (or replace it on the mat to keep dust from collecting on the exposed mat) until ready to install tiles. There is no “cure time” once the liner has been removed. Keeping the liner on prevents the adhesive from being compromised by dirt and dust.
How can there be 15 sq ft if there is 8 inches of mat permanently stuck to the roll tube?
All rolls are produced by a highly automated, quality control system that assures each roll contains mat that is a minimum of 15 ft 10 inches long thereby making sure there is always a minimum of 15 feet in length of useable material to always yield a minimum of 15 square feet. Off cut pieces of mat may be patch-worked together at any time.
Can MusselBound be installed behind stove/cooktop?

Yes, MusselBound is used to adhere tile and grout behind stoves/cooktops like this mural, border and subway tile.
Why can’t I use MusselBound on floors?
Most tiles have bowing and/or cupping. Additionally, many floors are not flat. MusselBound does not compensate for those imperfections and tile and/or grout cracking could be expected under the deflection caused by the weight of a room being occupied.
How do I install metal edging (aka Schluter® trim by Schluter Corp) with MusselBound mat?

Metal trim may be installed with staples or other fasteners and then mat applied right over the area that the tile is places. Alternatively, metal trim may be applied with mat on the back or the mat may be installed and the metal trim set onto the mat. Then a small strip of mat can be added onto the trim where the tiles are set
