What are restricted applications for MusselBound?
MusselBound is NOT for use in outdoor applications, floors, ceilings, steam rooms, shower floors and submerged projects like pools and hot tubs.
How is MusselBound used in wet areas like shower/tub walls and behind sinks?
MusselBound is moisture impermeable when used with MusselBound Waterproofing System Seam Tape. Simply install the mat, peel the backing away from the mat seam. Center the 2 inch wide seam tape clear film side (non-adhesive side) over the mat seams and gently apply. For corners, pre-fold the seam tape lengthwise into 90 degree and use a putty knife to slide into the corner. When ready to tile, remove the printed paper backing to expose the seam tape adhesive and set tile per mat instructions. See shower video:
Can MusselBound be installed behind stove/cooktop?

Yes, MusselBound is used to adhere tile and grout behind stoves/cooktops like this mural, border and subway tile.
Why can’t I use MusselBound on floors?
Most tiles have bowing and/or cupping. Additionally, many floors are not flat. MusselBound does not compensate for those imperfections and tile and/or grout cracking could be expected under the deflection caused by the weight of a room being occupied.
